Pineaple Land

Poroto is a district of Trujillo, it's very popular for its pineaple production since 30 years ago, there are almost 400 pineaple farmers in a town of 3000 people.

A "sweet" job

These men work in a sugar factory, they arrive at the field to clean the plants, it's no common to see them so early, many people seed sugar cane for selling to this entreprise... the factory is in Laredo (20 min from Trujillo), called "The Sweet City". When you drive near to the factory you can smell the sugar.

This house is named "Casa Muñoz y Cañete", it was built during 18th century, it has a traditional colonial and republican architecture... Nowadays, this house belongs to local goverment.

Huaca Rajada

There are many huacas in Peru, many of them are important monuments but another ones are forgotten and lost... This is Huaca "Rajada", it's called thus for the big cut at the center of the huaca, it's in front to the Archaeological Complex "El Brujo" in madalena de Cao. Now, it's forbidden to enter because this places is not so secure, it needs to be rebuilt and show all its walls and many things no discovered yet.

I was going back to Trujillo and suddenly on the road I saw this guys with their job car: a beetle, I took the pic very quickly but they smiled for my camera ^^.
It's rare to see these workers in this kind of car beacuse their job is related to public electricity .

Gourd birdhouses

This gourds are handpainted by moche artists, they belong to Art School and sell this gourds to foreign people, because in Peru, people don't use this products for nests o birdhouses, but this young people is creating new products for local consumers... it's a challenge for them.

Art in stone

In Pacasmayo, one hour and half from Trujillo, there are many artisans which work with "marmolina" stone, this kind of stone are a little soft and it has a lot of colors. This artisans make animals mainly, in series, in special times they prepare an unique work for enterprises o collecter people.
