Colonial windows of Trujillo are more than a characteristic of the city, they are the story of families and the people who worked with steel...

Welcome to the world...

This is "José Joaquín", son of two dear friends. He was born today very early... good luck in your entire life my dear boy.

Kindergarden Day

I didn't now it exists a special day for the education on kindergarden, maybe it's a way to think of the importance of the education of the children very early, my country has a lot of problems with education, in of them is the analphabetism.

Happy day for the kids!!!... these pics were taken in Magdalena de Cao, a little town near to Trujillo (1.30 hours), when kids left the school for a minutes to celebrate this day in the streets.

Santa Clara

Santa Clara Church belogs to the convent with the same name, it was built on 1548. Many nuns live there, but it is not easy to see them, only during the mass. This church possesses a beautiful pulpit with figures in high relief, and an ostentatious and golden main altar... I think I have to take more pictures inside of many places :S

Colonial Window

Another window of the historical center, i don't know how many colonial windows are in the city but I know the windows os one house are different to another houses, one of the reasons is this windows were a sign of the owners, or the family who lived there.
Yesterday, the owner of "Casa Ganoza Chopitea" (post: 05/18) invited me to visit this house, i'm happy for that, so you can see inside this beautiful house very soon :)

Casa Ganoza Chopitea

This old colonial house is one of my favorites, it was known as "house of lions door", I guess for two little lions on the house, but it has details of their original paint from XIX century... Now it's an office of the Local Gobernment

Let's go

Last days, I've gone to the country side of Trujillo a lot of times, it's very nice because it's an oportunity to leave out of the office and see people with other life philosophy. To go to the north east to Trujillo, you have to ride old mini buses (called Combis). This time, I liked a lot tle blue inside the car, and you can see a lot of tires for take with us for a long trip :)

Peruvian Stepping Horse

Some months ago I posted a Chalan with his Peruvian Stepping Horse or "Caballo de paso"... last weekend I saw two of this kind of horses but in different places: one at the beach and the another one at the country side. The Caballo de Paso is very important for people of the peruvian coast and it's very special for peruvian north.

Cleaning a hope...

When you drive to the downtown in Trujillo, you see some kids cleaning the windows' car oftenly, specially on afternoons, most of them go to the school in the mornings, some of them go on the weekends and others don't go to the school.
People pay them 0.2 soles (0.06 dollars) for each cleaned...
