I had told you about "caballitos de totora" (post) , summer is beginning and this fishers ride the "caballito" with one person, who pays 5 soles (1.5 dollars) for 20 min on the sea, but sometimes they take more time... would you like to sail in a "caballito"?

A group of kids were jumping to the sea, it was a little compotition for them. People is going to the beach in this days, kids are on vacations for two months so the beach is a good place to play...

This stone turtle is a little piece of artisans from Pacasmayo (near to Trujillo), they create many animals in several sizes, this turttle is not finished but i liked it thus. If you can see more pics of this artisans working, click here

I use to go to the beach, while I walk I find interesting things... this crab is on of this. When I saw the pic I remembered the movie "Predator".

A sweet place...

If you want to taste traditional desserts you have to go to "Doña Carmen", an old place to eat "mazamorra morada " (a dessert which takes on the color of one of its main ingredients: purple maize) and "arroz con leche" (rice, milk, sugar, "canela"). Also, you can find "higos rellenos" (a fruit with a sweet, creamy filling made with milk and sugar), "suspiros limeños" (white and sugar)... and other sweet dishes.

Today, I finished arming my "Nativity"... xmas spirit is in everywhere, I like this time of year ^.^

"naranjita" reflect

can you see me?... this is my car (I know, it's old), i like classic beetle. It had orange color two years ago and we called "naranjita" (like "little orange")... now it's gray maybe it needs more color.

waiting for a flight

I like so much pelican, his way to fly seems to me so elegant... I found this friendly pelican yesterday, first i saw him sleeping but suddenly he woke up and he stayed quiet just looking at me. A really nice moment for me and for my camera :)

Fish Day

Every Sunday, most of the people prefer to eat fresh fish... we have a lot of kind of fishes and many ways to cook them. This pic shows just two simple dishes: fried fish and "sudado"... do you know "ceviche"? it's the most famous but it was very early for a ceviche (9.00 am), yes, this was our breakfast...

If you have problems with your shoes, these can be fixed very easy, in the center of the city we found stores where shoes are fixed with the simplest and old machines of the city ... it's cheaper and the shoes are as you want.

When the sun arrives, everybody go to the beach and they, the ice cream salesman do not stay in the city. On the road, we found them riding their bikes for 12 km (two ways=24 km), they take sweet and fresh ice cream for everybody... hard job?

UFOs?

A detail from my neighborhood... I like this little trees, they have an original desing and they look like UFO. My nephew says this trees look like ballet dancers without head and without arms :S ...what do you see here?

Caballitos de Totora

Weather is changing and it's the best time to go to the beach for a moment. Everyday, many fishers from Huanchaco use "caballos de totora" for sailing and fishing, for me, it's very pleasant to see them because it's a detail of our history, this is a custom from "Moches fishers".

Here you can see "huanchaqueros" (people fom Huanchaco) of all ages using "caballitos de totora" or woving their webs. I always enjoy to come here and this is one reason to do it.

This draw was found on a "ceramic moche", this represents how old moche people fished...

Marinera on the streets

Say Marinera is say Trujillo... by time to time, some insttitutions celebrate with this dance on the street, for a moment people stop to see the dance and enjoy the music, this makes special to our city.

Peruvian Stepping Horse or "Caballo de paso"... this horses are characteristic in peruvian coast, they dance "marinera" while they are walking.

Art in wood

Artisans from Magdalena de Cao (30 min from Trujillo) work in wood, they painted in a special way, all the objects look old. Some time ago, they work indiviadually now they got together and they called "Cao Viejo Artisans".

Electoral day

Green

I visited some farmers near to "Virú" (province of Trujillo)... i enjoyed so much fresh air and a green and quit place. This part of farm belong to big enterprises which export "páprika" and "espárragos".
